Social Media is Making People Psycho

Okay, let’s be real. Social media is turning people into absolute lunatics. You’ve seen it. I’ve seen it. We’re all just sitting here, scrolling, watching people completely lose their grip on reality—one post at a time.

It starts small. A little dopamine hit from a like. A cheeky comment that gets some attention. Then suddenly, someone’s picking fights in the comments, posting weird cryptic messages about their “haters,” or filming themselves crying on TikTok for views.

The Digital Circus (Where We’re All Clowns)

Look, the internet was supposed to make life better, right? A place to connect, learn, and share ideas. Instead, it’s turned into a gladiator pit of hot takes, outrage, and people performing their emotions like they’re auditioning for a Netflix docu-drama.

People don’t just have opinions anymore—they have performances. If your take isn’t spicy enough, no one cares. If you’re not crying, shouting, or exposing some deep trauma, the algorithm simply shrugs and moves on. So what do people do? They crank up the drama to 100.

And the worst part? It works.

The Side Effects of Too Much Scrolling

Ever noticed how social media makes normal people act like absolute weirdos? Some classic symptoms include:

  • Arguing with strangers over nothing (Like, why are you beefing with a 12-year-old on Twitter?)
  • Thinking every minor inconvenience is a conspiracy (Your order was late? Clearly, the government is after you.)
  • Believing they’re the main character of the universe (Yes, Karen, the world is watching your morning matcha routine.)
  • Addiction to “outrage” content (If you’re getting worked up over a TikTok trend that doesn’t affect your life at all… maybe log off?)

And let’s not even start on the people who suddenly think they’re experts on everything—from political science to epidemiology—because they watched half a YouTube video.

But Wait… Are We the Problem?

Here’s the kicker: We love this nonsense. Otherwise, we wouldn’t keep watching. We doom-scroll, laugh at the unhinged posts, share the ridiculous drama, and shake our heads while secretly enjoying the chaos.

So yeah, social media is making people psycho… but we’re all complicit in the madness.

The Solution? Maybe Touch Grass

At some point, you’ve gotta ask: Is it worth it? The stress? The fake outrage? The pointless online fights? Maybe it’s time to log off, go outside, and remember what the real world feels like.

Because while the internet is fun, real life is way less psycho.

Or at least, a little bit less.
